Kid Drives Car Into the Inlet For A Livestream Dare

 

"I double-dare you".

Just before 10pm the other night, police received multiple calls that a car was being driven into a local inlet. It seems like the whole incident was being livestreamed so the police were able to respond quickly. Sadly though the car was fully submerged by the time they arrived on scene but not too late to arrest the driver, at least.

The whole incident took place as dare. The driver was promised $30k to record driving his car into the water. Because it was so late at night the recovery could not take place until morning so booms had to be set in the water to contain the fluid and oils that leaked from the vehicle. This area is home to many fish species and bird wildlife while also being linked to trails, greenspace and a park for kids. 

Should the person who paid for the car to be submerged be charged alongside the driver?
